Hi Tom,
Gregg Humphreys here. Couple of weeks ago I made a comment on your Facebook page stating how you were a big influence and how I have radically changed my training protocols for myself and my JudoSAMBO team.
Another big influence is one of my best friends, Igor Kurinny of Russia. Igor is a three time SAMBO World Champion and a five time World SAMBO Cup Champion. He also holds a doctorate in physical preparation for wrestlers. I find that Both of your training philosophies are quite similar. If you get an opportunity, could you please watch this short video from Igor and let me know what your thoughts are?

I fully agree with Dr. Kurinny’s opinion on strength training of fighters. So what else is new? See a series of my very old articles on strength training for sports and martial arts, posted at https://stadion.com/strength-training-for-sports-and-martial-arts/. One article of the series, titled Sports Skills and Strength Training, Part V deals specifically with the issue covered in the Dr. Kurinny’s video, but read all the articles listed at Strength Training for Sports and Martial Arts, it will be worth your while.
