Putting this altogether, I'm confused...

Post by Cyan »

Ok, I do XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) so my current main goal is to achieve Side/Front splits and peak Dynamic Flexibility in my legs for high kicks (without pain in the hips/legs, and includng with no warmup).

I read that in order to achieve peak flexibility like front and side splits, it requires great strength. So, I've started doing Squats and Deadlifts as my main lower body conditioning for this purpose.

My question is, how do I combine the Stretching and Strength Exercises and which exercises do I combine? When do I do each and how much? How do I prevent becoming less flexible and bulky when incorporating Strength training?

This has been holding back my progress for as long as I can remember because it always hurts and some skills I can't do because of the Lacking flexibility. It's very aggravating, I need this answered once and for all.
