starting again

Post by gav223 »

Hi I used to be able to do the side splits using both legs and almost do the front splits when I was 15. I am now 28 and although my flexibility is ok I cannot get near to do the front splits. I want to start stretching serious again and would like to know what routine to do. I do not do any specific sports anymore, the only training I do is weight training and jogging. Can someone give me any pointers on what I should be doing. Also can someone tell me if those stretching machines are worth buying.
Thanks.

Hi,
I'd pick the isometric/relaxed stretches that will help you gain the flexibility you want and perform them 3 times per week after your weight training sessions(you can perform relaxed stretching more often if you wish).

Dynamic stretching isn't needed if you don't need flexibility in motion.

There's nothing you can do with an expensive stretching machine that you can't do alone.Save your money.

Hope this helps,

Dragon.
