tension-relax method stretch
tension-relax method stretch
Does this method work for all muscles or just the inner thigh muscles for splits? I just tried that method for a few other stretches, i'll i see if it actually works.
I'm wondering whether doing the isometric front splits influences the side split stretch? Because when you assume the front split position and tense to pinch the floor you tense the hamstring if your front leg and also end up tensing the inner thighs of the back leg, so I am wondering whether this helps a bit with side splits?

I think the difference would be negligible.
The main advantage is that if you only perform isometrics, you can only stretch(statically) 3,maybe 4 times per week.If you add relaxed stretches to your program you can also stretch on your rest days.
Another thing that i do in my workouts is to perform my isometric/relaxed stretches in different positions. For example,if i perform an isometric front lunge stance for the hip flexors i'll use a different position for the relaxed stretch.
