I have been practicing judo for the past 38 years. I used to be very active in competitive judo and am currently coaching. We have several competitors in our judo academy who compete at the state, national, and international levels. I am an educator (school principal) with a doctorate degree. I highly recommend the book Sciece of Sports Training by Mr. Kurz. We use the information to plan our programs. The book is full of useful information that can be used for any sport, supported by current research. I was especially happy to see examples for judo.
