I've got this on both legs, but the damage was done on my right. It started after a period of no training. When doing simple snap kicks or stretch up kicks- the opposite leg seems to tear or stretch too much. The area is from 2 or 3 inches above the knee to about half way up toward the pelvis.
Tried and am still using caster oil, as well as electrolite suppliments.
Any help is really appreciated

Words like "tear" and "damage" are never good. I don't know what you are describing and it doesn't matter, either. Get yourself checked out by a doctor. If you have a problem that doesn't go away by itself after a few days, then always get yourself checked. Don't wait weeks for it to "heal by itself". A good sports medicine doctor will make sure that nothing is seriously wrong, speed healing, and try to limit the amount of inhibiting scar tissue that gets laid down by the body.
I know people don't like to spend time, effort, and money on a doctor if they don't have to. But it's such a small investment to avoid what could turn out to be a chronic, lifelong problem if you don't get this thing fixed as soon as possible. Time is important.
Good luck,

I'm very big on getting yourself checked out if you have an injury. I'm recovering from a re-aggrevated hamstring injury I originally suffered at the end of June. It's been six months now and I'm still limited as to what I can do. It has nothing to do with lack of flexibility and everything to do with my not letting it heal completely before jumping back into the swing of things.
It's always tempting to think that you can work through the injury or that it will heal by itself. You have to be careful not to let such delusions stop you from doing the right thing and getting it taken care of. We all do such things; I'm just reminding you of something that you probably already knew.
See if you can ask some knowledgeable friends or co-workers about a good sports medicine doctor. Some of them are fantastic while others are probably not so wonderful.
