stength training and flexability, lower back prob

Post by Guest »

I have just got my side and front splint to the ground so to speak, but I was wondering if I stop or lighten my weight training will I lose them?

Also I been getting pain in my left lower back, im not sure if its from the strething or the weight trianing, its in the left SI joint (Dr check me out). I have been doing dead lifts and good mornings any ideas what causing the pain? the pain is not present during either work out but later the next day or that night. Its not soreness one gets after a hard work out.

Hi,
I'll offer some suggestions even though i'm no expert.

Once you've gained a high degree of flexibility i doubt you'd lose it by dropping the amount of weight you are using(you may be more prone to injury though).

As for the pain in your left side:-I too had problems with my hips/lower back so i went to a GOOD chiropractor. It turns out that i have one side(wether it be my leg or pelvis) shorter than the the other.
If this is the case for you(and i stress the if) then it could explain the pain in only one side.If your lower back is slightly lower on one side it would mean your lifting more to one side than the other.
when i was doing stiff-leg deadlifts i noticed the plates at the end of the barbell would touch the floor on one side first when i set it down rather than both together.

Hope this helps a bit,

thanks dragon, appreciate the reply. I just found a good chiro thru my cousin( he is a PT ). I' ll give him a shot. I think the weight trainings give my the trouble. im 165pnd, squat max 250, i know its not much but I think maybye if I lower it to 205 or 185 that may help, my goodmornigs are at 135pnd, dead lift 205. all in set of 10. Its just so frustating when you fine during the work out even the next day no soreness, but satica or low back pain takes me out for a few days......
