Any experts??

Post by abcd »

Hi iam a beginner in stretching, - 15 years in soccer and my legs are stiff as wood! (our coach didnt care about stretching)! But now iam going for, splits high kicks and martial arts. (I wanted to do splits since 10years of age).... I have read Mr Thomas Kurzs Book, and my head is bowed down for this man, much respect for his knowledge and physic!
I thank you Mr. K, you have given me hope for my childhood wishes!

Iam 26, 183cm, and 75kg. and my stretching is now only 90 degrees.
I do this:

Day 1: chest, shoulder( maybe relaxed stretch before sleep)
Day 2: arms, back (maybe relaxed stretched before sleep)
Day 3: Dynamics, complete Legs, triceps and Isometric
Day 4: Running and Isometric
And then all over from day 1...
(I drink wheyprotein 3 times a day) gained 5 kg in 1,5 months..

I can only lift about 50 kg in squat, so i work on leg strengthning.
and i use 10- 15 kg in isometric stretch.

will this give good results.. for now it is going very slow.

Help me, any expert, please.

Thank you

.. i dont do dynamics every day because my side swing is only 45 degrees, so i think i should wait until my static flexibility becomes better...

Hi.

Do a warm-up and dynamic stretching every morning. Do some relaxed stretching every day. Do isometrics 2-4 days per week. As far as the isometrics are concerned, start off with less and build up gradually over time. There's no point rushing in and burning yourself out.

The leg swings are a good idea right from the word go. Not only will they translate your static flexibility into dynamic flexibility, but they will make your progress quicker.

Cheers
