side leg swings

Post by taekwonguy »

hi guys

I am a martial artist and am currently trying to improve my flexibility to the max, especially high kicks

on the side leg swing, the second version for martial artists, I cannot seem to keep my right foot paralell to the ground on the way up, it turns up right, my left foot seems fine!

thanks

Hi.

Check your alignment on both sides. People often have different levels of flexibility on each side, but in addition, they often initiate moves from slightly different positions, exaggerating the difference between sides.

If you saw yourself from a few angles, it wouldn't surprise me if you noticed difference in your posture between sides.

Of course, this could indicate a physical alignment issue, which might require some body work from an osteopath.

Cheers

just concentrate and focus on keeping the foot pointing forward. you will lose height at first but persevere.
