Lying V stretch
Lying V stretch
I have a question about this relaxed stretch (lynig v stretch). At the end of my training I perform this stretch. I put my legs against the wall and let them slide apart and then I spend 10 minutes in that position. After 2-3 minutes I push with the hands a little on my thigs to get the legs even wider. It is very relaxing. The only thing is that when starting this stretch I'm still warmed up and in sweat, but after a few minutes I'm completely cold and still in this stretched position, so my question is should I continue with this cause I'm basicly stretching cold?
All stretches can be performed from cold,it's just that it may take you longer to reach your current maximum.
The only problem with staying in a stretch for so long whilst cooling down is that your legs may be stiff when trying to get out of the stretch.
Rather than spending so long in the stretch you could perform the stretch in the same way but in sets or you could make the stretch more intense by using ankle weights so it's more of an isometric stretch.
I have also seen people place a staff so it is resting across the soles of the feet and then gently pulling down in the centre to help the legs move wider apart.
Dragon.

Thanks for reply, the reason I spend so long in this stretch is because I thought the longer you spend in the stretch the better your nervous sistem get used to it. Its true that after so long time my legs are little numb, but I get carefuly out of stretch and when I hit the shower I feel great.
I'll try with ankle weights also.
