Do I carry to much?

Post by Jan »

Hello Members,

as Mr.Thomas Kurz recommend for the Side Split preparation I do a lot strengh training for my adductors and so, I often train on an adductor machine. For me, it´s no problem to carry more then 60 Kg with a repetitions of 12-15.
Could this be to much? Should I use training loads with lower weights and more repetitions? What are your experiences?

Merry christams and a happy new year

The problem with most adductor machines is they work you in a range of motion less than you are trying to achieve. For example, the full splits is 180 degrees,an adductor machine's maximum is approx. 120 degrees.

If you are performing dynamic strength exercises(in preparation for isometrics) then lower weight/higher reps would be better.
If you're performing an "average" strength routine then the rep range is down to your own preference.
