question about strenght

Post by DanBor »

I have a question about strenght. I've noticed when I am not doing specific exercise for strenght for about 2 weeks that I lose some strenght, even if I'm doing other exercises for strenght. And after 2 weeks when I try that exercise with same sets and reps as 2 weeks before I feel sore next day.

For example:

1. week: adductor flyes, horse stance, ismetrics for hamstrings, relax stretching

2.week: jumping front lunges, isometrics for side split, isometrics for hamstrings, relax stretching.

Both 2 days a week.

So one week i'm doing lunges and the other horse stance.
Is this O.K.? When someone build strenght how long does it last?

THANKS.

Some workout cycles i've done have had mixed reps/sets.For example,week 1-heavy weight/low rep work.Week 2-low weight/high rep work.
It can take a while for your body to get used to performing exercises every 2 weeks but you will adapt.

The only thing i see with your routine is you're making the comparison between horse stance one week and lunges the next.
One is a static exercise, the other is dynamic.
It would be better to perform squats one week, lunges the other.

You are right about that comparison, I didn't thought of it like that, I agree. I'll try with squats (hindu squats). But now I'm little confused about horse stance - I don't know how to include it, I know its not recomended to do more than 2 isometric exercises per workout.
Thanks.

You can put the squats in workout 1 at the beginning. That way you'd still be doing 2 isometrics if that's all you want to do.
