Using a partner?
Hello! I know that mr. Kurz doesn't reccomend working for flexibility with a partner, due to the high risk of injury. Knowing this I accidentally saw on "Stretching scientifically" table of contents (on the site, I don't have it for more info) the topic : the use of partners... Can anyone tell me more?
Personally,yes,i do use a pully(flexi-max).
The main reason a partner shouldn't be used is because they don't feel what you feel.
I certainly don't regard a simple pully system as a stretching device,it's just an easily ajustable foot rest for performing hamstring stretches(that's all i use a pully for anyway).
I personally don't use the pully for isometrics, only for relaxed stretching.Pressing down with maximum contraction for isometrics would make me weary of the pully/rope snapping(even though this could probably never happen with the amount of weight pully's can take).
