Leg raises raising buttocks?
Should we raise the buttocks in the leg raises? That's what is shown in Secrets of Stretching. Isn't it harmful for the lowerback? Does it strengthen the lowerback?
Which direction are you refering too?
In the rear raise:-
If you try to keep the hips completely square and rigid that could be more dangerous to the lower back, unless you have extreme flexibility of the hip flexors(can do a full gymnastic front split for example).
In the side raise:-
Doesn't really happen.
In the front raise:-
Rounding the lower back is what can damage it.
In all forms,it is a dynamic stretch, not a strengthening routine,so your lower back won't recieve the kind of contraction/conditioning as it would during back ext.,deadlifts,etc.
