Dragon, so the horse-stance (Kiba Dachi) with all the step variatons it's a must for achieving the full side split? I've been doing as you said the adductor pull-downs, but I've seen that the adductor flyes are very reccomended as well. I have another request: can you please describe some isometric stretches leading to the side split?

I wouldn't say it's a must for achieving the side split, plenty of people have achieved the split without the horse stance technique.Even though it is shown in the video Secrets of Stretching, the copy of Stretching Scientifically that i first read(2nd or 3rd edition) doesn't mention it.
Maybe Mr.Kurz found this technique yielded best results for the people he's trained over the years.

You ask about isometric stretches that lead to the side split:-

If it's the side split you wish to achieve, then i would say the best exercise is the isometric side split.Other exercises may isolate one leg at a time or place less stress on the knees but the quickest way is to use the exercise you are trying to perfect.

So it's another way of saying to stick with the program I have till perfection. Cool! And I must say that doing the same program for some time now I've improved my flexibility: "Slowly, but surely (kancho H.A.).
I've got a question which I pops in mind: can you explain more deeply the notion "pelvis tilted forward". I seem to understand it but I can not translate in my language. Thanks in advance and God bless you all! Salut!

If your training program is working for you and you are making progress then that's all that matters.
The definition of tilting your pelvis forwards:-

Basically, sticking your butt out will tilt your pelvis forwards.

Would this mean that I should be leaning more to the front?

Leaning forwards will tilt your pelvis forwards but just tilting the pelvis without the lean will allow you to do the horse stance isometics.
If you lean forwards during this exercise you will lose balance.
