Some examples of relaxed stretches please!

Post by CrazyBoy »

Hello again! I have a problem which I was thinking I will resolve it with your help. I don't have many studies or articles about stretching and the only two types of stretching that I know are dynamic and isometric. But I want to know some about relax stretching because (I am ashame to say) I don't know nothing of it. Not a definition, nor a few example exercises. So can anyone help me please? Thank you!

The positions of relaxed stretches are much the same as the positions of isometrics. The difference being, you want as little tension in the target muscles as possible. For example, during a relaxed side split you would lean forwards and support yourself on your arms. This takes the weight of your legs and helps them relax.
In this position you simply wait out the tension until you can stretch a bit further.

Perform relaxed stretches after isometrics(or instead of them) holding each position for as long as feels comfortable(roughly a minute).

Hope this helps,

Dragon

Thank you very much Dragon for your quick reply! It was revelating! As for the relaxed side split, I think this has been the only way I did the side split until now (unconsciously).
