- Sore knees... can some1 please help me??

Post by Iceman »

Since 4 months I'm busy learning the sidesplits...
I'm advancing quit well (only 30cm to go to reach the ground-level)

- But for some reason my knees prevent me from going any further!!
They get very sore when I'm stretching my sidesplit.

What can I do about this??

How strong?

Post by UKfightfreak »

Hi, how strong are you?

Obviously it would be advisable to get yourself checked out by a doctor, but all discomfort I have ever had stretching with my knees was when they were not strong enough.

E.g. can you do 100 hindu squats easily enough?

I had this exact problem you are having, pain on the inside of the knee. I over came it by, rest, then by doing leg extensions. one leg at a time. simple from a sited poition you extended your leg, but do not lock it straight. I use the leg extension machine at my gym, I use about 50pounds 10rep *3 sets, but I started with 37.5pnds I think, I do these twice a week after my squats. After a few weeks of doing them my knees were strong enough to handle the isometrics no more pain. Hope this helps you.
