I aplogize, I did not want to make it seem like the bodybuilding supplements were magic pills that gave me the splits without much effort. I should have made it more clear that when I was taking these supplements I was gaining strength constantly within those three months(I went from 180 max squat to 225 for 10 reps in about two months).

Also I was in High School at the time and I did this training during the summer break and when school started again in september I had to calm down with my training for school. When I stoped taking the supplements my strength slowly went down (probably I was also tired from school as well) and it would take me much longer to get into a split. I could still force myself into the split but I would get sore the next day. It was a while ago but I do believe I got frustrated with that and just phased out working on the splits.

I just wanted to let people know that if they have the time to train in the gym and for splits consistently throughout the year then I would seriously recommend working on gaining functional strength in all types of exercises including the ones suggested by Mr. Kurz. Working on getting stronger in the core musles and legs seriously help the splits come faster(at least from my experience) and after you get your splits with this type of training don't let it go like I did and keep up with the training. My little strength spurt during that one summer helped me realized that.

There's no need to apologize!!
Maybe my post was worded rather abruptly.I was trying to point out that all the things you listed may give you an initial boost but can't alter your genetic capabilities.
Rather than crediting the pro-hormones,creatine,etc for your results you should realize it was hard work that made it possible.
I have no doubt that if you started training again under the same conditions without the suppliments you'd make the same gains(only they would probably be more permanent).

In general, I think supplements are a waste of money. But that's probably because I have a pretty good understanding of nutrition. There are many athletes who give nutrition little to no attention for whatever reason (they don't know what to do, they can't afford to spend the time or money, they have other things on their mind, they don't think it's important, etc.). For them, I can easily believe that supplements can improve their situation. But I think the benefits obtained by supplements in these cases could be obtained more cheaply by adding more high-quality meat, vegetables, and oils to their diet.

Regarding creatine, I can't speak from experience. I have friends who have taken it and claimed success. Their reports are similar to jrlefty's, namely, that when they stopped taking it, they lost their strength gains.

I have been using the DVD's info for about 3 weeks(6 sessions!, I don't bother for the leg raises at this point as I am not a kicker anyways) and improvements have been spectacular, I will probably reach the sidesplit in 2 months.

If you do not, do not be discouraged, take into account where you are coming from(training etc) I am still very young(17years) and have been doing strength training before I got interested in flexibility training.(that probably speeds up the process.)

I would guess that it depends on how fast your strength reaches the needed level.
