pain in my heels........

Post by Darren Keynes »

I have been trying to get into the side splits position for a while now with steady progress ,thanks to your book and video-great stuff!

However I have "heelspur" on both heels. When i get into a fairly good position, maybe 1 foot off the floor, I experience pain in the heels which is hindering my progress!
I find that stretching the calf muscules first thing in the morning helps keep alot of the pain away.
It is only when I try the side splits position that I get pain.
I have had this problem for 3 years now.Doctors can only suggest an injection in the heel - that is not the way I wish to go!

Do you Have any ideas?
Thanks for your time.
Darren.

Wish I could give you a suggestion for an alternative treatment but I don't know any that work. I had the shots some years back and they worked well, which really surprised me as I am prone to "achy" type injuries (tendonitis et al) that don't clear up well. I was in football at the time and was out for about 5 weeks. Had to do some weird taping after that. If I had been in a sport that did not require a lot of running, the recovery time would have probably been about 2-3 weeks.

I know that this is not what you ask for but good luck.
