halo,
English isn't my prime language so I'll try to explain my best.
When Kurtz say to tense the muscles so you will be able to stretch further, does he mean to "squeeze" the agonist(prime mover) or to stretch it hard? I'm having hard time understanding the postcontractive relaxation thing...

If we take the front leg extension in the static active flexibility, which muscle is the agonist? which is the antagonist and which is synergist?
I'm feeling stretch even in the leg which I stand on but that's maybe because I'm unactive for a long time.

If the hurdler's stretch isn't good for hurdler because you can't learn dynamic movement by static drill, do you need any static flexibility in running? the whole sport is dynamic...

Isometric = squeeze the muscle then relax.

There is no real need for static stretching in running, except for in the cool down AFTER the workout, this will help recovery after a hard workout.
