Hi All,
I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
For a few weeks I have been practising dynamic and isometric stretches.
My issue is with my over tight quads. When aligning my hips I rotate my pelvis backwards as instructed and found that I was still getting pain that felt like my thigh bone hitting into my hip.
I spent some time cheching out my relaxed posture in a mirror and realised that my pelvis naturaly rotates backward due to my lower abs not being as strong as they should be and my tight quads pulling my pelvis down.
I'm obviously addressing the weak stomache and when stretching my quads, feel the stretch primarily in the front of the muscle above the knee.
What I'm looking to do is stretch my quad around the hip area. Does anyone have a good stretch for this area as all I find it dificault in feeling the stretch here.
Cheers

Excessively tight quads
Hi.
When doing side splits you need to pull you butt back and upwards. I always consider this a tilt forwards of the hips because the pubic bone is coming closer to the floor, but most literature calls it a tilt backwards because you are pulling your butt back and upwards.
I find this position is easier to achieve by doing toes-up splits, or more recently I've switched to RoadKill splits, as shown below:
With that in mind, are you actually tilting your hips in the correct direction?
I'm not sure how your abdominal and quad issues relate to this from your explanation.
Try to RoadKill approach and see if this correctly your alignment.
Cheers
