Testing your Flexibility potential

Post by john carroll »

I've tried the stretches to test my Flexibility Potential and fall a bit short. Does this mean i will have to put in a lot more hard work or am i doomed to not be able to do splits? I do have very very stiff hips, probably from years of sitting at a desk in my daily job. I have no medical problems apart from a blood clot i had in my right leg several years ago, not sure if this may have done some damage?

Someone else asked a similar question and my response was the same:-

If the flexibility tests say you cannot perform the splits does that mean you are going to stop trying?

My point is if you have to stretch after your training anyway, you're not losing anything by aiming to achieve the splits.
