How to do a front split correctly

Post by Kjata »

Hi, I recently stumbled upon this site and mister kurz's book. I don't have the money right now to buy the book so I was wondering if you guys could help me on this or even send me a URL with an explanation. I've been stretching regularly for probably 6 years now, but I haven't been able to do a split. I've recently really been pushing myself but I can't seem to get it. When I do a front split, I usually let my back leg go straight, which puts pressure on my hip joint, and strech out my front leg and push myself as far to the ground as possible. The problem is lately I feel like I'm not aligning my hips up right to stretch, and I've been having pain in the knee of the front leg I've been stretching. Any help?
