Frustration of not achieving the split

Post by Ted »

I'm pissed because I cannot improve my side split after several years of practice. I was wondering is anybody know some kind of surgery that could fix this problem?

Or is there a way to use aenesthesia to relax muscles and force a split?

I'm not asking for a miracle but I've definitely reach a plateau and I want to achieve a real split.

Please tell us how u are stretching, Types, how often so we can tell where u are up to. I can do full splits each way but thats due to my Isometric stretches that i perform and i stretch 4 times a week without fail.

Do you follow kurz's programme?
Do you run regularly with long strides?
Can you squat your bodyweight 10 times easily?
Can you deadlift twice yourbodyweight 1 or 2 times?
Do you do lunges regularly?
Do you do Isometric stretches regularly?
Do you use specific exercises to strenthen your adductors?
Are you sure that you align your hips properly when attempting a split?
Are you aware of the different types of stretching dynamic, passive, isometric etc?

If the answer no to most or all of the above then you need not worry about surgery or anesthesia, you need to start training properly!
