Hips clicking

Post by Lemarteau »

I have bought the book "stretching scientifically" to achieve a nice split and hopefully in between chairs. I have followed your advices and I have improved greatly. Many years ago (12 years) I was almost there to achieve the normal split and I feel that my flexibility is still there. There is no pain and I feel the stretch in my glutes. My legs can be described as mamoth and the flexibility can be achieved with my faith. When stoodup I raise my right leg to my chest or right sidekick I occasionally hear the clicking noise at my left leg and vice versa. My question is that a bad thing to happen and is there a fix I can incorporate with minimum warmups. Please help me. Danke

I think most trainees experience this.
If it's troubling you though, get it checked out by a good doctor.

Hello Dragon,

How do I look for a good doctor? Do i look for a specialist? I'm not a big fan of doctors because they all have different opinions and they have discredited themselves as calling themselves doctors to me. I tend to do many things at my own discretion and to consult people like you and do a few experiments myself in a safe way. What charakteristik am I looking for a doctor and when asking for their opinions?

That's a tough one.I'm sure each country has it's own requirements/qualifications(although that's no gaurantee of good advice!).
Personal recommendation would be a start-talk to people who had success with a particular doctor. Also, make sure they are knowledgable in your needs(have experience in treating martial artists, power lifters, etc).

Good luck.Let us know how you get on,

Dragon.
