My favorite hamstrings strech is sitting with one leg straight and one flexed. Both legs are in front of you. If you reach forward you will strech the hamstrings of the straight leg.

What works for you is the most important in my oppinion.
If the sumo squat is better than pulldowns than stick with sumo squats.

Don't fast stretches only relax your muscles for a short time.
If you want to drop into a split and jump back up than it's ok. If you want to be able to stay in a split, somehow I am for slow stretching.
