Re: Overstretching
I would say it wouldn't matter. it's pretty much considered in the kurz book/dvd that the leg swing's/dynamic movements shud be done as a warm up and all heavy stretching done at the end. I spose the only difference being that someone whos tight or loose although doin the same excercises would look ...

Re: Overstretching
u shud do a light dynamic warm up before ure running, ie, lunges/ leg swings. and do ure stretching after the run. by stretching throughout the day, especially if ure stretching hard you are causing tiny micro tears in your muscles before you've even started your 10k run. which is why ure probably e...

Re: very tight adductors
I don't like that test at all, it's worded much too simply and I think whoever wrote it assumed the everyman had the same sense of body awareness that they do, when they simply don't to tyciol. if u find the traditional sideplit test unsatisfactory, try this. lie flat on your stomach and lift one l...

Re: very tight adductors
dynamic leg raises are the most effective way to make your hips looser. you shud do them twice a day everyday and after a few weeks u will feel completly different. none of kurz's stuff is a trick, it just need to be performed in a sensible way. most people who pick up his book much like myself. tak...

Re: adductor pulldowns
when you do your adductor pull down's your supporting leg is supposed to be facing forward and the leg pulling the weight isn't really supposed to be goin higher than navel height. you go to the same height as the split test, like a half split. the reason you are getting more flexible but you kicks ...

do your iso's on the beach!!!!
everybody who can, shud try doing there isometrics on the beach. it's excellent for those like myself who are close to the splits but not quite there yet, cos you get extra stabilty in the stretch and cos you sink a tad you get the added phychological boost of a seemingly better stretch. so go try i...

Re: Static Stretching - purpose
you need ease and range of motion as a martial artist. it only comes through increased static flexibility. by which you can develop greater dynamic flexibility needed for kicks and such. i think this statement is wrong? static stretches are meant for the purpose of being in a stretched position sta...

you obviously havent read the book??? training three hours a night is too much. and your order of training is wrong. kurz says to never do isometrics or statics before ure main workout as your muscles just become tired. also you can't really get a good stretch this way as ure muscles are less elasti...

on the new dvd you see kurz do his isometric's from the horse stance always for side split. the other guy is only used when the three types of isometrics are explained. kurz's ways is better as it eliminates the fear by giving you more control and like someone said previously puts your hips in the c...
